Joyce Farms was started in 1962 by Alvin Joyce and is still a family-owned business today, with Alvin’s son, Ron Joyce, and his two sons, Ryan and Stuart, at the helm. They are located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and most of their partner farms are also located in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia. Joyce Farms has come a long way since the company was founded in 1962. They've gone from just selling chickens to raising all-natural poultry, beef and game for the top chefs, artisanal butchers, and consumers across the U.S.

Turning to the grass-fed beef category, Joyce Farms aimed to produce something that had been lacking: grass-fed beef with consistently full flavor and tenderness. And so was born Heritage Beef, a grass-fed beef with a taste that beats out the best beef in any category.
Heritage Pasture Raised Chicken
Their Poulet Rouge Fermier brand chicken, better known simply as Poulet Rougechicken is a "Cou Nu," or naked neck chicken. Ron Joyce personally selected this bird in 2003 from the prestigious French Label Rouge Program while visiting France to study the country's elite poultry industry and find the best-tasting chicken in the world. He coined the name "Poulet Rouge Fermier" for this new bird that he would grow in the United States.
